You have also focused on the plant floor with both, JIT/LEAN and Quality Assurance elements,
through executing and controlling operations (ECO). It is now time to go back up to the 40,000 foot approach with SMR – Strategic Management of Resources.
The exam has 75 questions, divided approximately as follows:
19 questions will be on Understanding (25%)
34 questions will be on Developing (45%)
22 questions will be on Implementing (30%)
This module is affectionately referred to by APICS as the “capstone module” as it ties all the key points together, or to use a construction example, “puts the roof on the house.” Explore the relationship of existing and emerging processes and technologies to manufacturing strategy and supply chain-related functions. The course addresses three main topics: aligning resources with the strategic plan, configuring and integrating operating processes to support the strategic plan, and implementing change. Before diving in, it is important that we overview SMR and its three key elements.
